Let's Laugh! Let's Laugh! C'mon, Let's All Laugh!
Slight departure from the news
I think we’re all a bit depressed by the news coverage.
On my cheerful commute home tonight, I heard this lighthearted tune, which included some lyrics translated from Japanese into English.
They struck me as kinda capturing the current mood of the people who are wanting to see real peace among the brothers.
I don’t really know if I am going to have time to write a long article tonight about the Ukraine, or Russia, or Gaza, or the university protests, or the fake election.
As an alternative, and to be sure you have something interesting to read, I decided to paste the complete lyrics to the song I heard while driving. I really….
Honestly, I really think you should read them over, word for word, and apply them in your own heart and mind.
You’ll see things differently afterwards.
Sorry for the lighthearted post.*
There was a couple whose son's name was Limitless Life
Lasting 20 Billion Years, Blessed by the Sea Gravel and Fish
in Water, in Clouds, or in Wind,
with a Home Where There is Food and a Place to Sleepand the Energy of the Yabukouji,
with Longevity like King Shuuringan from Paipoand Longevity like His Wife Guurindai
and Their Children Ponpokopii and Ponpokonaa's
Long-Lived FortuneAllow me to take a minute of your time
Please give us your courteous attention!I'm ready now!
You write it as "to laugh" (Ha!)
and read it as "festival dude" (Soiya!)
And the reason for that? The reason for that is?
So everyone can have their happy coats on!
That's all from me! Onto the next speaker!Let's laugh! Let's laugh! C'mon, let's all laugh!
Let's laugh exactly because life is tough right now!
Let's laugh! (Soiya, soiya!) Cry and you lose out
Screw the consequences and laugh!Life's full of ups and downs, sweet and sour
But we've overcome them, that's why we're proud Japanese!
Let's laugh! Through every situation
Screw it all and laugh!Guwahaha! (Guwahaha!)
Nyohoho! (Nyohoho!)
Pay no attention to your surroundings and laugh!
Smiles! (Smiles!) Smiles! (Smiles!)
Fortune visits those with a laugh-filled home!Ehm, thank you all
for coming today.
Now for a story!!There was a mouse family whose daughter was married away,
but she came straight home.
The mother mouse was very angry, saying,
"You married into such a nice house,
who do you hate so much it drove you away?"
"No no, I don't hate anyone,
but I don't like how retirees are so kind."
"Isn't 'kind' enough for you?!"
"But they sound like wheedling cats!"Let yourself be swept away in the busy life
Saying you'll disappear– you fool!Let's laugh! Let's laugh! Even when we can't,
we've got no choice but to laugh! Let's all laugh!
Let's laugh! (Soiya, soiya!) Lift the corners of your mouth
Let's laugh with all of our soul! We've cleared the Onin War's great famine,
that's why we're Japanese here right now!
Let's laugh! To the ends of eternity
Let's laugh, guhaha! Please, don't dismiss it as "little girls' nonsense"
or make strange faces, like a frown
I want to see you smileLet's laugh! Let's laugh! C'mon, let's all laugh!
Let's laugh exactly because life is tough right now!
Let's laugh! (Soiya, soiya!) Cry and you lose out
Screw the consequences and laugh!Life's full of ups and downs, sweet and sour
But we've overcome them, that's why we're proud Japanese!
Let's laugh! Through every situation
Screw it all and laugh!Let's laugh with all of our soul!
Guwahaha! (Guwahaha!)
Nyohoho! (Nyohoho!)
Pay no attention to your surroundings and laugh!
Smiles! (Smiles!) Smiles! (Smiles!)br/> Fortune visits those with a laugh-filled home!
*The music video of this song is below. And yes, I have already posted it recently. What can I say, I’ve become an unapologetic shill of Nippon Egao Hyakkei. The philosophy of its lyrics sum. up so much of what we all feel as oppressed victims of the rules based order.
